Soccer Game Preview: Spring Creek vs. Elko

Spring Creek is 2-8 against Elko since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Spartans are taking a road trip to square off against the Indians at 3:45 p.m. Spring Creek is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Spring Creek's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over Churchill County. Give Spring Creek's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Elko hasn't lost a match since August 29th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. They and West Wendover finished up their contest with a 3-3 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Elko have been dealt a draw since back in August.

Elko's draw makes their record 10-3-4 this season. As for Spring Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Spring Creek came up short against Elko in their previous meeting on October 2nd, falling 3-1. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
