The Layton Lancers fell victim to the Corner Canyon Chargers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 52-0 defeat at the hands of the Chargers. While losing is never fun, Layton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah football rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Corner Canyon is ranked second).

Madden Sargent threw for 122 yards on 15 of 31 attempts. Ryan Wensel was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards.

Isaac Wilson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 333 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 81 yards on only seven carries. Tate Kjar also helped out as he racked up 114 receiving yards.

Layton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Corner Canyon, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

Layton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Corner Canyon will be playing in front of their home fans against Lone Peak at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
