Recap: Rockledge Raiders vs. Okeechobee Brahmans
With a playoff game on the line, the Rockledge Raiders rose to the challenge on Thursday. They strolled past the Brahmans with points to spare, taking the game 57-38. Winning may never get old, but Rockledge sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Leading Rockledge to victory were Terrence Shannon and Ryan Blount. Shannon scored 16 points along with five steals, while Blount scored 27 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Blount has scored at least a third of Rockledge's points. Mark Christian was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Okeechobee lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Corey Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Wilkerson has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John White iii, who scored five points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.
Rockledge is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Okeechobee, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.
Rockledge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 88-66 win vs. Port St. Lucie on the 10th. Okeechobee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
