Basketball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

Perry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Macon County Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 201st).

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Macon County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Perry has already played their next game (against Warner Robins), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Macon County will head out on the road to face off against Taylor County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Taylor County has won five straight at home, while Macon County won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
