Mansfield Timberview hasn't had much luck against Joshua recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will head out to square off against the Owls at 5:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, Mansfield Timberview didn't have quite enough to beat Centennial and fell 3-2. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 25-19 in the first set.
Mansfield Timberview started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-12, 15-8.
Meanwhile, Joshua came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Elks by a score of 3-1.
Joshua had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-11.
Mansfield Timberview better focus on containing Madilyn Lacey and Ruby Vincent as the pair were huge in Joshua's win. Lacey had 26 digs and two assists, while Vincent had 15 assists and 13 digs. Those two assists gave Lacey a new career-high.
Joshua's victory bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Mansfield Timberview, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-19.
Mansfield Timberview might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Joshua in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
