Baseball Recap: Nature Coast Tech Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Nature Coast Tech walked away with it. They came out on top against the Hernando Leopards by a score of 9-4 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Sharks, who have now won four matches in a row.

RAYMOND GROETSCH looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, BRADY MCMURDO and BECKETT MONROE did most of the damage at the plate: MCMURDO got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while MONROE scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave MONROE a new career-high in doubles (two). BRYCE HEWELL was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Nature Coast Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hernando only posted a batting average of .083.

Nature Coast Tech's record is now 18-7. As for Hernando, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

Nature Coast Tech will take on South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sharks 3.2, the Raiders 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Hernando does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
