Basketball Recap: Maclay Skates Past Taylor County with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maclay). They blew past the Taylor County Bulldogs 50-20 on Monday. The Marauders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Lauren Guyer, who posted 13 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Josie Russo, who had nine points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Maclay and bumps their season record up to 8-2. As for Taylor County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Maclay will welcome Rocky Bayou Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maclay's defense has only allowed 26.3 points per game this season, so Rocky Bayou Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Taylor County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Franklin County at 4:00 p.m. on December 30th.
