The Millville Thunderbolts waltzed into their match Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Gloucester City by a score of 56-49. For Millville, this counts as revenge for the 58-47 loss Gloucester City walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2015.
Despite the defeat, Gloucester City saw an underclassman step up: Keegan Cohan scored 15 points. The matchup was Cohan's third in a row with at least ten points. Michael Light was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Gloucester City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Millville's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Gloucester City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Millville will head out on the road to face off against Egg Harbor Township at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gloucester City will finish 2023 at home by hosting Gloucester County Tech at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gloucester County Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while Gloucester City is ranked 81st).
