Basketball Recap: Clark Skates Past Madison with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Clark on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Madison Mavericks out of the water with a 57-19 final score. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Mavericks are ranked 926th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Sophia Campa, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 10 points and seven rebounds. Campa is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Alejandro, who posted six points in addition to eight boards and three blocks.

Clark pushed their record up to 9-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Madison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Clark will head out to challenge Brandeis at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Madison, they will take on Johnson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
