Baseball Game Preview: Hope Blue Wave vs. Classical Purple

Hope hasn't had much luck against Classical recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blue Wave will welcome the Purple at 4:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Hope came up short against Exeter-West Greenwich and fell 9-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Classical). They had just enough and edged out Mt. Pleasant 13-12. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Silas McKay was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Asher Westberg-Rubin was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hope's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Classical, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Hope took their win against Classical in their previous matchup last Wednesday by a conclusive 13-1 score. Do the Blue Wave have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Purple turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
