Baseball Recap: Altoona Takes a Loss

Altoona scored first but ultimately less than State College in their game on Thursday. They fell just short of the Little Lions by a score of 9-8. The defeat continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their meetings with the Little Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Altoona saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Albright, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Joseph Speece was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Altoona's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for State College, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Altoona wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Mechanicsburg on the 21st. As for State College, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-1 win against Mifflin County on the 21st.
