Video: Jacobs High School pulls off wild comebackA game against Pospect ends in an unbelievable way.The Illinois high school season opened on Friday, and it didn't take long for the Land of Lincoln to produce a memorable finish.
Thanks to some clutch touchdown catches and a perfectly executed onside kick,
Jacobs (Algonquin, Ill.) overcame a 10-point deficit with under two minutes to play to stun
Prospect (Mt. Prospect, Ill.), 26-24.
After Prospect scored with 2:46 left to take a 24-14 lead, Jacobs narrowed the gap following a touchdown pass by
Chris Katrenick, one of the state's top quarterback recruits.
Jacobs then beautifully executed an onside kick, setting up an incredible game-winning catch by
Nathan Meland with 24 seconds remaining.
"Now the guys all believe and we'll never give up," Katrenick
told the Northwest Herald. "There are 48 minutes to play; it was just a great team win."
