Baseball Recap: Oviedo Triumphs

After losing to Seminole the last time they met, Oviedo decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions walked away with a 5-1 win over the Seminoles on Monday.

Oviedo got a great performance from Alec (AJ) Nolan as he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Nolan is becoming a predictor of the Lions' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-2 (and 3-14 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Bodie Tierney was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Challis, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Oviedo's record is now 7-16. As for Seminole, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-17.

Oviedo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against Lyman on the 7th. As for Seminole, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-0 loss against Lake Brantley on the 7th.
