Volleyball Recap: St. Francis Borgia Comes Up Short

St. Francis Borgia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fayetteville Bulldogs.

Leading Fayetteville to victory were Lyla Blagg and Riglee Thomas. Blagg had 17 digs and four assists, while Thomas had eight digs and one assist. That's the most digs Blagg has posted over her last six matches. Ivy Kirkconnell also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

St. Francis Borgia's loss dropped their record down to 14-10-2. As for Fayetteville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

St. Francis Borgia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Nixa on the 11th. As for Fayetteville, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Ozark on the 11th.
