Football Recap: John F. Kennedy Comes Up Short

After flying high against San Antonio Memorial last Friday, John F. Kennedy came back down to earth. The Rockets fell 14-7 to the Marine Military Academy Leathernecks on Friday.

Dash Varner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 166 yards and one TD on only 14 carries for Marine Military Academy. Varner didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made nine total tackles.

John F. Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Marine Military Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, John F. Kennedy will welcome Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Rockets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Marine Military Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against La Villa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
