Softball Recap: Maranatha Christian Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southwest Christian, Maranatha Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Osseo Orioles. Considering the Mustangs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jenna Burns spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kendall Capp, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Gracelyn Kersey-Schutta was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Maranatha Christian Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Osseo, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maranatha Christian Academy will take on Spectrum at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Osseo, they will host Maple Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
