Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger proved they can win big  last Tuesday (they won by three) and  on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Homestead Spartans  3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Saints have posted  since October 8, 2024.
 Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger wouldn't go down easily and took Homestead into a fifth set  where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-17, 15-25,  15-11.
Among those leading the charge was   Claire Shively, who  had 15  digs and three  aces. That's the most  aces  she has posted since back in October of 2024.
 They weren't the only good server: Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 13  aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Homestead only  served three  aces.
 Despite the  loss, Homestead had strong showings from  Avary Heady, who  had 21 assists and five  digs, and  Katie Kitch, who  had 31  digs and four  assists. Heady has been hot, having  posted 12 or more  assists the last five times she's  played.
The  victory  got Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger back to even at 3-3. As for Homestead, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger will take on Norwell at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  win, something the Saints surely won't give up without a fight. As for Homestead, they will be playing at home against Bellmont  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
