Preview: New Dimensions vs. Vanguard Panthers
New Dimensions will head out on the road to face off against the Vanguard Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vanguard took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on New Dimensions, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, New Dimensions blew past Odyssey Charter School, posting a 83-40 victory on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for New Dimensions.
New Dimensions' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeriel Martinez, who scored 30 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Martinez has scored at least 25% of New Dimensions' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Carrasquillo , who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 assists.
Meanwhile, Vanguard was the victim of a rough 52-26 loss at the hands of All Saints' Academy on Tuesday. Vanguard has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
New Dimensions' victory bumped their season record to 2-1 while Odyssey Charter School's defeat dropped theirs to 2-3.
New Dimensions took a serious blow against Vanguard when the teams last played back in January of 2021, falling 60-19. Can New Dimensions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
