Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manchester). They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Blue Jays on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Greyhounds sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Leland Horner, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with six RBI, one run, and one double. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April. Another player making a difference was Luke Applegate, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Manchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Manchester's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Looking ahead, Manchester will welcome Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Greyhounds are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
