Football Recap: Bell Creek Academy Continues Road Dominance on Friday

With a playoff win on the line, Bell Creek Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 26-14 victory over Foundation Christian Academy. This was a revenge game for Bell Creek Academy: when they faced off against Foundation Christian Academy back in September, they had to take a 44-12 loss.

Wesley Fannin had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 90 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 37 yards. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in September.

Another reason for the win was Bell Creek Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Kaine Peterson and Alijah Tilman, who racked up six sacks between them. Peterson is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. Cody Schlise was another major factor on D, making 13 total tackles and defending four passes in addition to snagging three interceptions which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Bell Creek Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Bell Creek Academy will challenge Real Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Raptors have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Foundation Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
