Baseball Recap: Athens Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Prattville, Athens was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sheffield Bulldogs a 22-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Golden Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Athens' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Sheffield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Athens will head out to take on Deshler at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sheffield, they will challenge Florence at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
