Northern Guilford waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Western Guilford Hornets. Give the Nighthawks' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Dakotah Wilkins made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Taylor Claassen was a standout: she got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Asyah Smith, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Northern Guilford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in four consecutive contests.
