Basketball Game Preview: Brooklyn Hurricanes vs. Trinity Trojans

The Brooklyn Hurricanes will square off against the Trinity Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brooklyn hasn't scored more than 13 points for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Brooklyn is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Bedford on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Brooklyn was beaten by Bedford 43-2. The Hurricanes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-2.

Meanwhile, everything went Trinity's way against Lutheran West on Tuesday as Trinity made off with a 59-38 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Trinity's win came from a few key players Brooklyn will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nilah Thornton, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 17 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaynia Campbell, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 15 points.

Brooklyn's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Trinity, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Brooklyn was taken down by Trinity 73-19 when the teams last played back in January. Thankfully for Brooklyn, De'Oshania Bennett (who went 7 of 11 on her way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals) won't be suiting up this time.
