Baseball Recap: Valley Heights Takes a Loss

Valley Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Doniphan West. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against Doniphan West this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-1 defeat on Monday.

Charlie Warders made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Mack Shanks, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Valley Heights' loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Doniphan West, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Heights will face off against Onaga at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Doniphan West, they will square off against Atchison County on Saturday.
