Mission Viejo never let their opponents score on Thursday. They came out on top against the Capistrano Valley Cougars by a score of 5-0. The Diablos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Mission Viejo has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Capistrano Valley's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-5.
