Deer Trail lost against Genoa-Hugo/Karval back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Pirates. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Deer Trail was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Genoa-Hugo/Karval work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-15, 27-25.

Megan Donovan paced Deer Trail's offense, picking up six kills. Donovan got some help from Vailini Samate and her five assists. Fatuma Hussein controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Deer Trail's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season.
