Baseball Recap: Magee Comes Up Short

Magee has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the Taylorsville Tartars, falling 10-3. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Magee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Floyd, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Magee's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Taylorsville, their record is now 7-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Magee will head out to square off against Richland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Richland has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.55 runs per game on average), something Magee will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Taylorsville, they will venture away from home to face off against Northeast Jones at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Northeast Jones has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
