Volleyball Recap: Mesa Ridge's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak at Home

Mesa Ridge hadn't done well against Doherty recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Grizzlies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Grizzlies: when they faced off against the Spartans on April 1st, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

The victory didn't come easy: Doherty scored at least 11 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 25-19, 24-26, 15-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mesa Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaya Harris, who had 22 digs. Those 22 digs gave Harris a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Biber, who had 24 digs.

Mesa Ridge's win ended a ten-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-19. As for Doherty, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Mesa Ridge nor Doherty have any future games scheduled.
