Basketball Game Preview: Chino Cowboys vs. Montclair Cavaliers

The Chino Cowboys will face off against the Montclair Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Chino is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Don Lugo 93-75 on Wednesday.

Chino's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dario Shields, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. Shields' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Treston Davis, who posted 19 points and eight assists.

Chino was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Montclair can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Ontario by a score of 55-43.

Chino has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Montclair, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-16.

Everything came up roses for Chino against Montclair in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured an 84-48 win. Will Chino repeat their success, or does Montclair have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
