Recap: Windward Wildcats vs. Lynwood Knights
Even though the Lynwood Knights scored an imposing 81 points on Saturday, the Windward Wildcats still came out on top. Everything went Windward's way against Lynwood as Windward made off with a 101-81 win. Given Windward's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Lynwood is ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lynwood's loss came despite strong showings from Jason Crowe Jr and Chace Holley . Crowe Jr scored 29 points along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds, while Holley scored 26 points. The contest was Holley 's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Gibbs-Martinez , who scored 8 points along with 4 steals.
Windward has yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-1 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points per game. As for Lynwood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Windward will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Grand Terrace at 7:30 p.m. on December 4th. Grand Terrace knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Windward likes a good challenge. As for Lynwood, they will square off against St. Anthony at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Anthony has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 533 points over their last seven matches.
