Basketball Game Preview: Pryor Tigers vs. Coweta Tigers

Pryor and Coweta are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Pryor Tigers will face off against the Coweta Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Pryor sitting on five straight wins and Coweta on 12.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Pryor against Will Rogers College as the team secured a 55-27 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Coweta beat Memorial 52-41 on Friday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Chargers are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Coweta's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Pryor, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Pryor might still be hurting after the 57-33 loss they got from Coweta when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Pryor avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
