Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Drops Season-High Score on Kankakee Trinity Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage Christian). They took down Kankakee Trinity Academy 73-54 on Saturday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 62-60 win back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Ophoff, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Ophoff now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Andrew Regnerus, who posted 14 points and seven boards.

Heritage Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kankakee Trinity Academy only five assists.

Kankakee Trinity Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Akira Hori, who scored 15 points and three steals. The match was his sixth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vinny Hendrix, who put up 18 points and eight rebounds.

Heritage Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points over those games. Kankakee Trinity Academy's loss dropped their record down to 21-10.

As of now, neither Heritage Christian nor Kankakee Trinity Academy have any future games scheduled.
