Volleyball Recap: Wheat Ridge Comes Up Short at Home Against Denver North + How To Watch

Wheat Ridge unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Denver North Vikings on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 13 in a row.

Wheat Ridge was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-8, 25-12.

Denver North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Penelope Mulliniks led the charge by getting eight digs and three aces. Those eight digs gave Mulliniks a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Wheat Ridge will face off against Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Denver North, they will take on Skyview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
