Basketball Recap: North Central Comes Up Short

North Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 60-53 to the Carroll Chargers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Chargers are ranked 152nd).

Paxton Crane was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 29 points and 16 rebounds for Carroll. That makes it three consecutive games in which Crane has scored at least a third of Carroll's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Morris, who posted 12 points and three steals.

North Central's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers take on the Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Fishers will roll in looking for their 24th straight win, something North Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carroll, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
