Recap: Valparaiso Vikings vs. Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors

The Valparaiso Vikings came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past Hammond Bishop Noll 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amauri Moore, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of DeMarcius Royster, who scored 14 points.

Valparaiso's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Valparaiso and Homestead will round out the year against one another at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at. Homestead will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Valparaiso is ranked 50th). As for Hammond Bishop Noll, they will take on Evergreen Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Evergreen Park knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Hammond Bishop Noll likes a good challenge.
