Baseball Game Preview: La Cueva Bears vs. Goddard Rockets

The La Cueva Bears will face off against the Goddard Rockets at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

La Cueva is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Cleveland, who was ranked ninth at the time (La Cueva was ranked first). La Cueva fell just short of Cleveland by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Bears' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Goddard came up short against Carlsbad on Friday, falling 10-1. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Cavemen/Cavegirls recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

La Cueva's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Goddard, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

La Cueva beat Goddard 3-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Does La Cueva have another victory up their sleeve, or will Goddard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
