Baseball Recap: Island Coast Comes Up Short

After flying high against Port Charlotte last Friday, Island Coast came back down to earth. The Gators fell just short of the North Fort Myers Red Knights by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in February.

Isaac Lopez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Island Coast's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for North Fort Myers, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7.

While Island Coast had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
