Basketball Recap: Hackberry Comes Up Short

Hackberry saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were beaten by the Leesville Wampus Cats 58-10. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leesville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shyann McCummings, who posted 19 points. The match was McCummings' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malaya Williams, who had 13 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Hackberry and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for Leesville, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hackberry and Bell City will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leesville will take on Grant in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
