Preview: Valley View Eagles vs. St. Bonaventure Seraphs
The Valley View Eagles are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the St. Bonaventure Seraphs at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. One thing working in Valley View's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches.
Valley View extended their postseason success on Friday against South Pasadena. They escaped with a win against the Tigers by the margin of a single free throw, 74-73. The victory was all the more spectacular given Valley View's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while South Pasadena is ranked 114th).
Valley View found their leader in underclassman Charles Knight, who scored 36 points along with three steals and two blocks. Knight is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 13 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Cowart, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, St. Bonaventure waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They strolled past Bonita with points to spare, taking the game 67-53.
Dylan Benner was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Sam Seiden was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 assists.
Valley View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. As for St. Bonaventure, their victory bumped their record up to 22-8.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Valley View hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 65.5 points per game. However, it's not like St. Bonaventure struggles in that department as they've been averaging 65.5 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
