Basketball Recap: Tuscarawas Valley Trojans vs. Hiland Hawks
It was a good run, but the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 57-34 loss to Hiland might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Tuscarawas Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Hawks are ranked 72nd).
Despite the loss, Tuscarawas Valley still got an impressive performance from Izaak Matthews, who scored eight points.
Tuscarawas Valley now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Hiland, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tuscarawas Valley will take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hiland, they will be playing at home against the Cadets at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Linsly will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
