With a playoff win on the line, Whitnall rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past the Martin Luther Spartans 11-1. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Whitnall is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Martin Luther, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Whitnall will face off against New Berlin Eisenhower on Tuesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Martin Luther does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
