Softball Recap: Covington Academy Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Covington Academy rose to the challenge on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Trinity Prep Lions 10-9. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Covington Academy let Makenzie Cowan and Bryleigh Bragg run wild. Cowan went 2-for-4 with one home run, while Bragg scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Bragg a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophie Hailey, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Covington Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Trinity Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Covington Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair will be back at it again later today.
