Preview: Barnwell Warhorses vs. Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars

Barnwell is 0-5 against Ridgeland-Hardeeville since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Barnwell Warhorses will be playing at home against the Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Barnwell lost to Silver Bluff on the road by a decisive 58-39 margin.

Despite their defeat, Barnwell saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cedric Hart, who scored eight points, was perhaps the best of all. Jayden Pickney was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Meanwhile, Ridgeland-Hardeeville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. Their tough 66-45 defeat to Dreher might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Ridgeland-Hardeeville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Dreher is ranked 102nd).

Ridgeland-Hardeeville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jabien Harris, who scored 15 points, and Poncie Capers who scored 12 points. Harris has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played.

Barnwell has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Ridgeland-Hardeeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Barnwell came up short against Ridgeland-Hardeeville when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 55-43. Will Barnwell have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
