Recap: Viera Hawks vs. Melbourne Bulldogs
The Viera Hawks entered their tilt with the Melbourne Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Viera enjoyed a cozy 31-14 win over Melbourne on Friday. This was payback for Viera, who suffered a 49-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Chase Cromartie looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 301 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan Boobar was another key contributor, rushing for 36 yards and two touchdowns.
Viera's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Sal Orlando and his two sacks.
Viera has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Melbourne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Viera will take on Titusville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Titusville is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Melbourne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eau Gallie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eau Gallie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Melbourne in Florida (Eau Gallie is ranked 24th, while Melbourne is ranked 261st).
