Softball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

St. Joseph Academy can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past the Vermilion Sailors 17-5. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 12 runs or more this season.

Sylvia Mittendorf was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Silvia Lanese was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

St. Joseph Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

St. Joseph Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Vermilion, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

St. Joseph Academy has already played their next contest, a 10-1 defeat against Strongsville on the 21st. As for Vermilion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-12 loss against Port Clinton on the 23rd.
