Softball Recap: Bloom-Carroll Starts off Right with Win over Watkins Memorial

Bloom-Carroll had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Watkins Memorial Warriors.

The team relied heavily on Madelyn Gates, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Ady Luke was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloom-Carroll will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Newark Catholic at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Watkins Memorial, they will welcome Circleville at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
