Dexter waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Orono Riots as they made off with a 40-16 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Riots are ranked 75th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dexter pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for Orono, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Dexter will be playing in front of their home fans against Penobscot Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Penobscot Valley will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something Dexter surely won't give up without a fight. As for Orono, they will venture away from home to challenge Bucksport at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
