Baseball Recap: Westside Gets the Win

Westside won the last time they faced Emerald and things went their way on Monday too. The Rams came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 7-2.

Henry Perry looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Brody Caudle and Jacob Holmes did most of the damage at the plate: Caudle got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI, while Holmes went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Caudle has become a key player for Westside: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 4-8 otherwise.

Westside's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Emerald, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

Westside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
