Football Recap: Timber Creek Regional Comes Up Short

Timber Creek Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Cedar Creek Pirates and fell 49-14. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Pirates are ranked 24th).

Player #37 threw for 79 yards and one TD. Zyeir Green was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards and one score.

Timber Creek Regional's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cedar Creek, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Timber Creek Regional will square off against Washington Township at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' defense better be ready for this one: the Minutemen have averaged an impressive 38.4 points per game this season. As for Cedar Creek, they will face off against Ocean City on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pirates 14.4, the Raiders 10.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
