Softball Recap: Montour Has No Trouble Against Washington

Montour never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Washington Prexies 15-0. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Hailey Staub, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Natalie Ciamacco was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and one run.

Montour was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Montour's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Washington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

Montour and Washington should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Spartans (ranked 94th) will meet Mars (ranked 427th) at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Washington will challenge Jefferson-Morgan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (33 vs. 197).
